roll call
[The man that's on screen doesn't look as uncomfortable as he could be. After all, the showers in the Cerritos are communal. But he sure is feeling vulnerable chilling here in only a sheet, in an area where only a short time ago there were monsters.]
[Every so often he arches his back slightly in discomfort at the itching, crawling sensation there. (This is worse than the Borg parts. Worse than even the implants on his face.)]
Okay, we should probably do a role call? Who's still here? What's your name?
Also, what skills do you have that could be useful here? We need to figure out what we need to survive. Delegate tasks. The supplies around here definitely seem to be thin on the ground. They're not going to last forever.
We should also probably share intel about anything useful we find as we look around. Or anything the AI shares with us.

I'm still trying to evaluate what we're working with. I think some of the broken stuff is salvageable if we can set up the right tools but...it's different than the Octarian tech I'm used to. More advanced. I'm hoping to dive into it when we get more settled.

I'm used to more advanced technology, but I'm not a specialist. Let's hope someone finds it normal or basic and can understand how to make it work and teach it to others. Until then, I'm sure we can find examples that are already near-useless that you can take apart to familiarize yourself with.

I just hope I can be useful. I was always more of an assistant to the tech geniuses than the tech genius myself, but the baseline level of Octarian army tech is a lot higher than other places.

An extra set of hands that belong to someone who wants to help will always be useful. Even if you're not a tech genius, you can learn from them how to keep everything running.

With all due respect, I don't know what the difference would be. My own memories have been spotty for quite some time, but I don't feel like I'm any less...myself.
[Then he smiles.]
Well, Octarian society has a very high baseline level of technology. I should know enough to do maintenance and troubleshooting.

Though I'm not sure how much of that still applies. Obviously I have a solid organic body, and hopefully I'll be harder to hack. And I'm not limited to one area. I might well be indistinguishable from the real Janeway this way, but I'll always remember being a hologram, with all its advantages and limitations.

[He visibly shudders at the thought. This place is...similar to the environment of the Deepsea Metro that he can't help but think it's not impossible.]
