For those who haven't met me yet, I'm Nick. I'm a deaf-mute, and although the Nabu is making it easy for me to communicate via text, I was talking to 8 and we decided it would be best if everyone learned some sign language from me, too. It seems like we might end up in a lot of situations where being quiet is the best course of action. And of course, that'll be the quickest way for you to communicate with me in a hurry, so we don't have to both sit and type back and forth.
If you sign up, you'll need to commit to it. It'll be like any kind of language acquisition. It takes constant practice, time, and effort, so you don't lose it, and so you can build on what you've learned in the past.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll figure out how many people want to gather for this.

[Also he just really really wants to learn everything he can about humans. It's a welcome hobby, he's genuinely curious, and telling all of this to his human-fanatic friend Marina would just...make her entire life.]

[ Really, given power nerfs and the fact that he's not from a cool sci-fi future, he'll learn anything he can to feel like he's actually pulling his weight around here. ]

[He'd had a counselor suggest learning ASL once. To help when he couldn't communicate verbally. But there hadn't been much point sticking with it when no one else spoke "hand jive", as his dad so eloquently called it. But with this many other people slotted to learn it, hell yeah he'd be down for trying again!]
