Fushiguro. I'm...a jujutsu sorcerer, but I don't know if that's going to be much help here. There's something off about the energy here. My shikigami won't answer my summons.

I can feel my magic, but I cannot reach it, shape it to my will. Though I have not tried at my leisure. Perhaps with enough time and concentration, we could regain some use of magic.

So it's not just me. [ Which is...a minor relief, in a "misery loves company" kind of way. ] Same problem -- I can feel it but it's like it just...slips back every time I try to do something with it.

But I admit I definitely haven't been at my best today, either. [ Vicious understatement. He's not sure if it's supposed to feel this bad or if he's just mildly allergic to nanites, but the adjustment period has been an absolute beast. ]

Where I'm from, we're responsible for exorcising cursed spirits and monsters that would otherwise prey on humanity.

[ If "sorcerer" didn't ring a bell, he's guessing he should just go ahead and finish the glossary... ]

"Jujutsu" is the general term for the techniques we use. "Shikigami" are my specialty, spirits loyal to me that I can summon to fight alongside me. [ He's comfortable revealing that much. Anything he fights can usually figure out that much pretty quickly. ]

Spirits like the way some planets believe there's nature spirits or spirits like dead people?

It can be both. Or neither. Or either.

Cursed spirits are created by the concentration of negative emotions. So graveyards and hospitals tend to be hot spots, but not necessarily because of the dead themselves. [ Just as often, it's the living having A Lot of Feelings about that. ]
